April 9, 2008: Justin Marks has been hired to adapt Hack/Slash, Rogue Pictures' adaptation of the Devil's Due Publishing comic book Todd Lincoln will direct, says Variety. The comic, created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, revolves around Cassie Hack, a young woman who travels the country and takes on homicidal maniacs and serial killers along the way. July 27, 2007: ShockTillYouDrop.com reports that Transformers star Megan Fox is "incredibly interested" in the role of Cassie Hack in Rogue Pictures' Hack/Slash. Based on the horror comic book series, the film will be written and directed by Todd Lincoln, and produced by Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter. May 10, 2006: Variety is reporting that Rogue Pictures, the "genre arm" of Universal's Focus Features, has acquired the rights to Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli's Hack/Slash comic book series. Hack/Slash is one of the premier homegrown properties developed by Devil's Due Publishing, which also publishes a number of licensed comics. Hack/Slash follows the adventures of Cassie Hack, a teenage girl who survives a slasher attack, and then travels the country hunting down knife-wielding, teenager-slaying maniacs. Music video director Todd Lincoln is set to helm the Hack/Slash film, and is currently writing the script along with Martin Schenk, who worked with Lincoln on a remake of The Fly. Seeley and Caselli's Hack/Slash has already been adapted for the stage.
