He quickly loses that ability, watch the rest of the episode.

Spoiler: show
It was a test. Jor-El give him that ability to test him and after the test is done, the ability wear off.

I think that was more or less Jor El trying to see if he had it in him to save people without some abilities. Yeah, it would be nice to hear thoughts and use it as an advantage but it would suck really bad if you were to lose it especially when you needed it.

They did that mind-reading thing in the Lois and Clark and the Adventures of Superman show in the '90s - except only Kryptonians could read each other's minds. It was interesting that it was limited to Clark and Lois for a bit. That was just a completely silly episode. The show is better this season, but it's really getting ridiculous. Yeah, it's been ridiculous for a while, but now it's lost all common sense.

i know he looses it. i was just wondering where they got that idea. i agree with salawag it was ridiculous. i would prefer something else he could test him with like flight or freeze breath. i don't think he has that yet. it's hard to remember. he just uses strength and speed constantly.

well, supes is from a farm. he's probably conservative (a real conservative - not the kind that are over-indulgent political assholes and claim to be conservative). that's probably why he only uses a few powers. probably a kryptonian tax on power usage set by the WB company. "don't use all your powers you've developed over the last eight seasons - we only have the budget for two an episode!"

He learned that in season 6 and 8 Super breath and Freeze breath. He has used them a hand full of times.

Yes it was temporary, so he could learn how Humans really think and not to judge solely on ones actions.

the best season final of all the smallvilles yet. i think that was toyman robots with Oliver. and Granny Goodness r Darkseid with Tess. But i see them bringing in maybe "just a wish here" Batman to catch Clark r Green Lantern. And i see Clark in the red & blue suit next year.

It was a good season finale indeed.

In case someone haven't watch it yet.
Spoiler: show
I enjoy the tease of the suit for next and possible final season. I just hope it come to fruition and not just a tease. Also I think CK doesn't need any help to survive that fall, my guess is that since the character have demonstrate so much growth and maturity, he will be able to pull the blue kryptonite dagger off his chest and then fly away [it's about time]

About Ollie's situation, it is just a feeling but I predict something similar to The Omac Project here and the return of Lex Luthor. I know is a long shot but lets face it, the actor [Michael Rosenbaum] has not done anything major outside Smallville so I can picture a possible return for the final season to end with a high note. But it can be only a tease to hook up people because of the possibility of Lex return, so if that is the case, congrats to the responsible of the show for that.
