January 16, 2004: We got an email from a inside source of screenwriter Mylo Carbia, who had this unofficial scoop about the feature film 'Double Impact': "Both Jennifer Lopez and Roselyn Sanchez are in final negotiations for the lead roles (with Scott Speedman of Underworld being considered for the leading male role) and filming will start just as soon as schedules are coordinated. The release date looks like Summer 2005 (the hottest action summer blockbuster of the year we hope!). Also, if you haven't caught wind, Mylo has been receiving quite a bit of attention lately based on (get this) rumors of her affair with Ben Affleck in the U.K. so this movie will be receiving quite a bit of attention even before it hits the big screen!". June 19, 2003: Plans are afoot to develop the indie comic "Double Impact" as a feature film. The news came from an announcement by Global Screen Partners regarding a three-picture deal with Latina screenwriter Mylo Carbia. An adaptation of Enrique Carralero's "seventh best-selling comic book series" is one of the three movie's Carbia has signed on to pen. "I spent nine years trying to find the perfect writer to bring 'Double Impact' to the big screen," said Enrique Carralero, creator of the Double Impact comic book series. "When I read Mylo's proposed storyline for the movie, I knew it was time to get rockin' with this." "Double Impact" is described as a live action/adventure
flick set in a fictional gothic underworld filled with villainous
characters motivated by greed, lust and sadistic pleasures. The movie
follows the adventures of a buxom bounty hunter team of Latina look-alike
beauties China and Jazz who seduce the bad guys in order to bring
them to justice. Thanks to CBR News for the heads up! Editor's
Note: For some reason I see Jennifer Lopez and Mimi Driver in this
one. |
