Best CBM Casting of All Time – Michael Caine VS. Frank Langella
By FavaBeans | February 5, 2010
Stuart Townsend squeaks by as his Dorian Gray defeats Naseeruddin Shah’s Captain Nemo 6-5, in last week’s match up.
**I just want to remind everyone voting to include, clearly, who you are voting for. Posting a general comment on who you think should win may not get counted if your vote isn’t clearly stated. “My vote is for…. ” is ideal.
Also, it’s important to note that you are voting for casting, not the character itself, or if the two would win a fight. You are voting on who you beleive was the better casting choice for the character.
The game works like this – Each week 2 actors/actresses will be matched up against one another (randomnly, there’s is no bias in the match-ups), and it’s up to you, the fans, to decide who was the better choice to play the part. At the end, the winner with the most votes moves on to the next round. A new match up will be posted every Friday and will last one week!
Continue on to learn more and vote on this week’s match up!

I liked Michael Cain better so my vote is for Michael Cain. BUT, I don’t feel like either actor really captured their character properly.
@Darkknight6575:
Names in black are ones that have not been voted on yet in this round.

I VOTE FOR MICHAEL CAINE!

I agree with bedlam, i don’t really feel like either actor really captured their character properly. I think Micheal Cain is a great actor, but one thing bothered me about his portrayal of Alfred, he was too witty and not proper enough. I feel like his Alfred could’ve boxed twelve rounds and then go to the pub for a couple of pints . . . not how I beleive Alfred was portrayed in the comics, or in other adaptations. Because of this my vote is for Frank Langella. Cain will most likely win bc of popularity . . . so i’ll give one to the underdog.

Micheal Cain.. personally i think with good ol bruce wayne ALWAYS relying on alfred for a ton of shit… i think his version/portrayal is how alfred should have been in the first place
February 5th, 2010 at 5:27 pm
Caine
February 5th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
michael caine because i thought he played a very contemporary rememberable alfred, alfred in the comics often helped batman in the field and i couldnt see the previous alfred doing that at all..
February 5th, 2010 at 8:24 pm
My vote is for Caine

Michael Caine all the way…i like his alfred and alfred is such a big part of batmans life not to mention the 2 batmans were awesome….langalla’s role was really insignificant to an ok movie
February 6th, 2010 at 1:51 pm
Michael Caine.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:45 pm
My vote is for Michael Cain as well, but I personally liked Michael Gough, as Alfred, more than Michael Cain. If you aren’t sure who Michael Gough is he played Alfred in Tim Burton’s Batman movies, and those other two Batman movies that don’t exist to me.
February 6th, 2010 at 4:48 pm
Just noticed Michael Gough is already IN. Will be an interesting round, Michael Cain vs. Michael Gough.
February 6th, 2010 at 9:08 pm
I vote Michael Caine
February 7th, 2010 at 12:06 am
If it just happens that Caine goes against Gough it would have to be Gough all the way

Cmon now, when the voting gets this lopsided, we should end it and start a new pole. Lets get the game moving and keep having fun with it
February 8th, 2010 at 7:21 pm
Michael Caine, hands down.
And Flex has it right–I *think* we know who won this one already–next round, please?
