Will Christopher Nolan Return to ‘The Dark Knight’?
By Landfill | November 18, 2009
Back in 2008 when the highly successful Batman Begins sequel released, everyone wanted to see another sequel as soon as possible. Everyone loved The Dark Knight, everyone wanted to know what was going to happen next. Everyone wondered if director Christopher Nolan would be back.
Of course we all know now Batman director Christopher Nolan decided to take a break and film Inception before the third Batman film. Inception’s going good, you can view the trailer HERE, it’s release date is July 16, 2010. The film is a contemporary sci-fi action thriller set within the architecture of the mind.
Well it’s been a little over a year now and no official news yet. We have had a few outrageous rumors in the past and some dream casting scenarios but nothing new to report. We all want to know if Nolan will be back for the third Batman film and when we’re going to get the first official update.
Today, we bring some news concerning a Dark Knight sequel but it might not be the news you want to hear. Continue with this article for the latest news surrounding the next Batman film.
Last week, Batman-On-Film wrote an article concerning a Dark Knight sequel. In their article, they say Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan are finalizing planning for a third Batman film. Their source is someone who has reported to them many times in the past and is very reliable.
The author of said article, Jett, wants everyone to know they aren’t saying WB and Nolan are announcing the third film early next year so don’t be looking forward to something soon.
They also say their trusted source thinks that, “the longer we don’t here a Nolan/B3 announcement in 2010, the less likely it is that the director will return.”
Jett goes on to say the wild card in this situation is of course, Inception. Whenever we get a little closer to Inceptions release date, Nolan’s going to be bombarded with questions from everyone about a third Batman film. Jett thinks it would be a good idea to have the announcement earlier so Nolan wouldn’t have to answer so many questions over and over again.
Lastly, Batman-On-Film’s trusted inside source says if Nolan decides to leave the franchise, Warner Bros. will move forward with a third Batman film without the esteemed director.
What do you think? Would you want to see another Batman film if it wasn’t directed by Christopher Nolan? Please share your thoughts and opinions with us in the comments.

it would be hard to swallow. Why do I feel like we’ve seen this before? Two successful films made by the same director and then the third . . . oh yeah, i remember

Dejavu anyone? The curse of the Shumachor! If Nolan doesn’t make another Batman I hope he directs a bunch of flops! It’s selfish ! If inception blows he’ll be all over B3 . if it is critically acclaimed or a block buster he’ll probally won’t be able to smell his own shit & leave B3! !

I don’t know if I would be interested in B3 if it wasn’t a Nolan picture, UNLESS it was another reboot. I don’t really like the idea of ending one storyline on such a high note to start another, but I don’t think there are a lot of directors out there that could follow Nolan’s vision.

What Nolan should do is make a 3rd Batman film and have it end with some conclusion to the story. The first two are perfectly linked, but the Dark Knight’s ending doesn’t feel like a real conclusion. Nolan should just decide to make a Batman trilogy. If he’s not sure about about, he should just remember how much money he got for the second film.

I agree, Nolan’s story needs closure. He should think about his legacy in the franchise and want it to end with his fingerprint on it. If someone else come in that would be the end. Batman has already have to come back from a major embarresment..i dont think he could come back from another one..
