‘Thor’ Shooting Schedule Revealed

By Landfill | November 13, 2009

If you recall, we recently told you it was very possible Thor would shoot a few scenes in the great state of New Mexico. Today, the New Mexico shooting location is confirmed but Marvel’s upcoming CBM will have another location to shoot some shots early next year. Continue with this article to find out exactly what’s going on with Thor’s production.

According to Production Weekly (via Twitter) “Filming on Marvel’s “Thor” is scheduled to begin in LA mid-January, then move to Santa Fe, New Mexico from March till late-April.

Matt Goldberg from Collider has an interesting idea, if Marvel’s Thor is scheduled to film up until late April, we can expect some actual footage in July at the San Diego Comic-Con.

“Even if they’re shooting past April, they’ll definitely have something to show if Marvel brings the flick to next year’s San Diego Comic-Con (and I can’t think of a reason why they wouldn’t).”

It’s an interesting idea and I hope he’s right because it would be really great to see exactly what director Kenneth Branagh has in store for us. It’s going to be an interesting day indeed when we finally get to see what they’re going for and what kind of style the film will take.

Thor is right on schedule to hit it’s release date of May 20, 2011 which is a good thing. I remember back when Thor had the a release date for next year, something that was obvious, they weren’t going to meet. I actually remember thinking Thor can’t possibly start production and expect to meet a date that was quickly approaching. It’s nice to see Marvel take their time with a valuable property like Thor in order to get it right.
