Scott Ian Offers His Pick for ‘Lobo’

By Landfill | November 4, 2009

scott ianA few months back we provided you with an interview with co creator of Lobo, Keith Giffen. At the end of that interview, there was a bit of news about Scott Ian, guitarist for heavy metal band, Anthrax. Ian was to write a miniseries involving Lobo with Sam Kieth Illustrating. Today Ian provides us with his choice for Lobo in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming CBM.

“Yeah, this guy named Matt Willig,” Ian told MTV about his choice for Lobo. “He’s an ex-football player who’s gotten into acting and if you watch ‘Dexter’ he played a guy named [Little Chino].” By the way, watch This Clip to see who Scott Ian is talking about.

“He’s like seven feet tall, and I think he would be perfect,” Ian said.

It’s true, I’ve seen the guy, he’s ginormous. He’s a guy that either looks really huge or he is really huge. He has the look for Lobo but I’m not so sure about his acting. He, after all, is a former NFL football player. Football players aren’t known for their acting.

I suppose they could do something with Willig and Clancy Brown’s voice. I wouldn’t mind watching something like what Guillermo Del Toro did with Abe Sapien in the first Hellboy movie. Whatever way they decide to go, I’m sure it’s all going to come together to make a great film.

And Lastly, the musician chimed in once more to say anything from Anthrax would work well for the upcoming CBM’s soundtrack.

What do you think of Scott Ian’s choice for Lobo? Share your thoughts about the upcoming CBM with us in the comments.
