‘RED’ Casting Update
By Landfill | November 13, 2009
So far we have Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John C. Reilly, and Mary Louise-Parker attached to star in the upcoming CBM, RED. Today we find out Julian McMahon, Brian Cox, Ernest Borgnine, and Richard Dreyfuss are in negotiations to star alongside the confirmed cast scheduled to start shooting early next year. Continue with this article to find out what roles they will play in RED.
According to THR’s Heat Vision Blog, Julian McMahon is in talks to play a Vice President with a dark side who is at the center of a shadow conspiracy.
Brian Cox will play a former Cold War spy and nemesis of Willis’ character, Ernest Borgnine will play the keeper of the CIA’s darkest records, while Richard Dreyfuss will be a wealthy man who builds a fortune out of lucrative government contracts.
“Red” tells the tale of a former black ops agent (Bruce Willis), now in retirement, who has to contend with younger, more high-tech assassins who show up to kill him.
Interestingly enough, Collider noticed that every actor involved with RED right now isn’t cast as the younger more high-tech assassins who show up to kill Willis’ character. I suppose you can expect that casting as soon as it becomes available.
It’s amazing how much talent is involved with this CBM. The talent rivals another CBM known for it’s ensemble cast, The Dark Knight. It’s very possible this could be a very good project that has a great story since it’s constantly attracting great actors. Keep checking back for more updates for the upcoming CBM, RED.
