Latest ‘RED’ Update
By Landfill | November 3, 2009
With my weekend extended for a day, I’m back to write a few updates for you, the readers. First up, we’re reporting on the latest news involving the film adaptation of Warren Ellis’ RED.
We told you in the past Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman were set to star and principle photography would be starting soon. Today we update the cast along with the shooting schedule plus a release date.
According to Screen Daily, Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren will be joining the cast of the upcoming CBM. No news yet as to who she will play but Superhero Hype has an idea:
Willis will be playing retired CIA agent Paul Moses who must fight a hit team sent by the new leader of the CIA (Freeman) who wants to clean up loose ends i.e. former agents like Moses who know too much. More than likely, Mirren will be playing Freeman’s predecessor, Moses’ handler who he has kept in touch with over the phone while living in seclusion after retiring. It would likely be a small role, and there’s no indication whether we might actually see Mirren’s character on screen in the movie.
The source also added that principle photography will commence January 11, 2010 with shooting locations in Toronto and Louisiana. RED has a release date set for November 19, 2010.
