Julia Stiles to Play Black Cat in ‘Spider-man 4′?

Last week we told you Black Cat was semi-confirmed for Spider-man 4. There is indeed a role and a few big name actresses have been linked to the part. Earlier today we told you fan favorite Rachel McAdams hasn’t heard anything about it denying she has the part. We still haven’t heard anything from Romola Garai, another actresses rumored for the role. Today we get a bit of news concerning the role with Julia Stiles attached. According to UGO, Stiles met with a casting company based in New York City to discuss the upcoming CBM, Spider-man 4.
Stiles hasn’t been in a comic book movie before but she can act. If the news is true, she’s obviously wanting to get her name out there trying to find the attention of Sam Raimi or anyone involved with production.
I think she would be a safe choice for Felicia Hardy, she would definitely bring something different to the Spider-man film franchise, a dominate female presence, one that could rival Spider-man. This is something Black Cat needs in order to make the character believable along with having a reason to be in the film.
We still have no idea exactly what kind of role Felicia Hardy will have against Peter Parker/Spider-man other than the fact that she is the daughter of a “Viper” type of guy who is in charge of the Daily Bugle. After some point in the film, he is killed off causing Felicia to take up the Black Cat persona. He is also a villain.

I LOVE Julia Stiles – and not just because she reminds me of my wife – BUT I don’t think she’s right for this character. I would rather see Julia Stiles as Gwen Stacy than Felicia Hardy. If she does get the part, it will be a true testament to her acting ability to make that role believable and enjoyable.

I honestly don’t think it’s that bad of an idea in terms of casting. Stiles hasn’t done anything too big lately and this role could put her back in the A-List lime light. There are probably better CBM roles for her, but Felicia Hardy isn’t bad at all.

Im definatley skeptical about this…. as an actress i know she could pull the part off….. but do we really want to see black cat …. not hot… i mean it was terribly disappointing to see Kirsten Dunst play MJ. I have nothing against her just i think black cat/ Felicia Hardy should be played by someone that has features to look at… call me a pervert but ..

I agree with spdermn4eva as to who cares what this role would do to her career..she is ugly and neurotic..i mean has anyone had the misfortune of seeing save the last dance? Black cat is meant to make you drool and want her, not to think ”yeah maybe after a few beers”..they made that mistake with MJ and again with gwen stacy..why can they not find hot actresses who can act to play these female roles???
