Danny Elfman Talks ‘Spider-man 4′

We all know who Danny Elfman is. He’s the guy that makes all the sounds for Spider-man. He created to score for the CBM and also worked with Tim Burton in the past on the first two Batman films starring Michael Keaton. He makes great music and has been kind to the CBM world so it would definitely be a good fit for him to return to the genre with the fourth Spider-man film.
Elfman was asked by MTV if he knows if he’ll return for the upcoming CBM, he said, “Who Know?”
“Only the great gods of the movie world could answer that question,” he laughed. “Imagine a chess game, [with] the Greek gods moving us around — that’s how it is in the movie world. Somebody’s moving me about from one square to another, but I have no idea what square I’m headed to next.”
Interestingly enough, Elfman didn’t want to come back to the Spider-man franchise for the third time during the early development stages for Spider-man 3. He said Sam Raimi was too demanding and could not make music for the director comfortably. He said he had a difficult time working with the director on Spider-man 2.
Apparently the Spider-man producers didn’t mind Elfman stepping away so they hired his understudy, Christopher Young for the score. Eventually Elfman came back to Spider-man 3 and collaborated with Young to make the score.
It’s interesting because Elfman obviously doesn’t like to be rushed and has had a bad working relationship with Sam Raimi. This is all in the past and they have moved passed it but it’s possibly it could happen again. It wouldn’t surprise me if Elfman decided to go in another direction for the fourth installment in the Spider-man franchise.

Danny Elfman is one of my all-time Favorite composers. He is the only compose to consistently deliver an enjoyable score according to my taste. For him to return would be grad, of just to hear what his Lizard cue would be!
