More Details Surface Surrounding ‘Spider-man 4′

So the other day we gave a big update/rumor about Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat being in the next Spider-man film. The rumor came along with a few names attached, namely Rachel McAdams or Romola Garai playing the part. today there are a few more tidbits and a confirmed character. It’s almost a guarantee Black Cat will be in the next Spider-man film according to Hey U Guys:
According to our friendly neighbourhood spider-source there are a number of actresses currently being considered for the role, but this at least confirms that Hardy is going to be in the film.
The above news comes along with the character’s story arc, “Apparently she is the daughter of the new editor of The Daily Bugle, a man who is also referred to as ‘a viper’. She falls in love with Peter Parker, and uncovers his true identity. Her father then dies, and Hardy becomes a threat to Peter Parker.”
There is some importance to the word Viper according to the source but nothing important has come up yet. Brendon Connelly from /Film has a pretty good idea and he thinks it’s a possible mix up in words and could mean Vulture, a constant Spider-man villain.
Vulture would work but I don’t necessarily think that’s what Raimi’s going for. I think Vulture is a big enough villain to have his own movie, if Sand Man can, Vulture can. I wouldn’t want to see another top villain played out in a matter of 30 minutes again that’s for sure.
It does hold importance to the description of the character but I’m thinking it can’t be that important since the guy dies half way through the film. I definitely don’t want to see Spider-man framed for some one’s dad’s death in order to make them become a vigilante/villain in a later installment, we’ve seen that, it didn’t play out well in the first trilogy, why should it now?
My idea is he’s a viper in making business decisions, meaning he strikes fast with a possible deadly force. This tactic of business is probably what gets Mr. Hardy killed early on in the film. I also think he’s involved with the Daily Bugle because he’s helping them out in the tough times our nation is seeing with the recession.
It sounds like alot of story for some reason, it doesn’t seem like they can cover it in just one movie. It would be nice to know if they plan on shooting back to back films in order to get Black Cat’s storyline down and not feel rushed.
Back to the source, they say Felicia’s old man is indeed a villain and possibly the one Mania was talking about a few days ago.
Right now everything’s still in the early stages and nothing is concrete. So many questions and so little answers. Where does Dylan Baker fall in? What about Bruce Campbell? Nothing new to report about Mary Jane but Black Cat is a definite possibility, more than Vulture. Make sure you keep checking back for the latest Spider-man 4 updates.
