Kat Dennings Wants ‘Hack/Slash’

Last we heard of Hack/Slash, the project was getting a new director in Fredrik Bond who replaced Todd Lincoln. Before that, Rogue pictures who are adapting the comic book had acquired a writer, Justin Marks, the guy responsible for the recent Super Max screen play starring Oliver Queen.
Today we’re bringing you the latest update from Kat Dennings, who was at Toronto International Film Festival recently promoting her new film Defendor starring Woody Harrelson, and what she thinks about the developing Hack/Slash.
“You know who’s a cool girl comic book thing?” said Dennings. “Hack/Slash!” She said this in response to the interviewer’s question if she had anything in mind or something she wanted to do.
Dennings went on to tell MTV she’s a huge fan of the superhero genre, especially Iron Man.
I think she could pull it off, she would be a great choice for the role of Cassie Hack. I’d definitely go with her if Megan Fox didn’t want the role. Dennings has shown her acting skills are a bit better than Fox’s. I’d still have to go with Fox though because she can usually draw a crowd and Dennings hasn’t been given a film to carry on her own as Fox did with Jennifer’s Body. I realize it didn’t do well at the Box Office, but she still has that in her resume.

She fits and she has a great supporting actress resume. I’d take her. Of course, Megan Fox would really push the movie better in terms of name recognition, but I’d really rather see Dennings in the role.

Yeah Megan Fox has that going for her. If they cast Dennings, I’d assume they would surround her with talent, something like what Nolan did with Christian Bale in the Batman films.

I really think that Dennings would be amazing for this role. She’s beautiful and she can act very well and I think she would fit the role of Cassie Hack.
The closest thing that Fox could do for this movie is just bring in tons of profits for making this, like the rest of her films out there, a soft core porn flick and ruin the story completely. She cannot act and she has a wretchedly boring look to her. She’s not beautiful like Dennings is. Fox is more like a robotic version of the 12 year old boys classic wet dream.
To make this movie a success, they need Dennings for sure, especially if she is showing interest. She could probably make this a success and her first big success on her own, without being surrounded by “support”.

I like the way you think RogueAvenger. I agree with everything you’ve said. I really like Dennings as an actor and it’s true, she can act.
I like Megan Fox as well but she just doesn’t seem like the type to play Cassie Hack. She’s just nice to look at.
