Eliza Dushku Talks ‘Iron Man 2′
By Landfill | October 10, 2009
Not sure if you guys knew this but back when Black Widow wasn’t cast in the upcoming CBM Iron Man 2, there were a few actresses who were being considered by director Jon Favreau and a few who threw their name out there in hopes of landing the role. Eliza Dushku is the latter and she desperately made a plea for the role but ultimately lost out to Scarlett Johannson who replaced Emily Blunt for the role of Natasha Romanoff.
Dushku recently spoke with MTV to promote her new show Dollhouse and updated us on where she stood in the whole Black Widow casting.
“I think it went straight to Miss Thing,” said Dushku humorously while talking about Johannson. “I get it, you know? I get it. She’s pretty fierce.”
She also said after her plea for the role that she eventually realized things were pretty much in the bag over at the studio and they already had a few people in mind for the role.
“I had read about it—I’m a huge [Robert] Downey Jr. fan and also [Jon] Favreau — but I think they had it packaged up at the studio,” she explained.
Johannson is a good actress and will do a fine job in the film. Since Emily Blunt was the first choice, I’d really like to see what Favreau had in store for her as the Russian secret spy. Blunt had to drop out because of a scheduling conflict but with the recent photos of Johansson in the Skin Tight Outfit, there is no time for complaining.

No complaints here.
Eliza is talented so she could land a future role in a CBM, there are plenty of great females characters. She can even try to get the role of The Wasp or I can see her as a possible Elektra.

I agree. Wasp or Scarlet Witch, perhaps. Heck, she might even make a better Rogue than the one in the movies.

I was thinking the same thing. With the hair color in the above pic with a little added skunk stripe she would make a perfect classic Rogue and not the whiney teen we got.
