Ok, I didn't know about Edgar Wright directing Ant-Man. Yes, that changes everything and I'd probably sell my own grandmother to see that. Duly noted about Fox as well.

@bedlamFLASH
Congratulations if you were able to sit through all of the Hoff's Nick Fury movie. I think about five minutes into that schlockfest I decided to do something better with my time, like watch paint dry.

First of all, it's Fox were talking about that's doing all these reboots, not Marvel. If you see what Fox has done compared to Marvel studio films, you'd see that Marvel knows how to handle their own characters.

Yeah they rebooted the Hulk and Punisher for a good reason. It was other studios that are at fault for the quality being so bad on the first two films.

Marvel is trying to get all their characters back from other studios like Fox and Sony but if they keep them in production, and renew their rights, they can keep them as long as they like. That's why now were hearing of a Daredevil reboot and a Fantastic Four reboot, Fox doesn't want to let go of a potential money maker.

AS for the other part of your comments, yes I'd watch an Ant-Man movie. The charter might not have too much to offer to be granted a film but it has Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) attache to direct and he's already written a script. If he can bring the comedic take he's known for to this character, I'd gladly watch, I'd gladly buy the DVD/Blu-Ray when it came out.

@That Fraggin Bastich
Simple answer: No.
Complicated answer: I'll still watch it because it's a CBM and I watched Nick Fury starring David Hasselhoff. 'Nuff said!

I think there were a lot of stumbles along the way, but I'm glad they're doing reboots. The first set of CBMs to come out around 2000 were really just testing the water. They used a lot of different techniques as far as choosing directors, building casts, and picking writers to see what works and what doesn't. Obviously they learned A LOT! A reboot can do everyone nothing but good. Also, think back to the live action versions in the 80's and early 90's. They were horrible. Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher. I vomited in my mouth just thinking about it.

I ask you, honestly, does anyone really want to see an Ant-man movie? I couldn't care less. They would really have to pull some talent out of the woodwork to make that worthwhile. I think all the Avengers related movies are going to be outstanding, or at least they should be based on how good the Iron Man and Hulk films that came out were. I also have high hopes for Kick-Ass because I think it's a fantastically original story and I'm a Millar fan. Also, I think Marvel should spend some more time in the development stages of their films. If they're going to put out crap films that get overall bad reviews from critics and fans alike then why not spend the extra time and effort to make these films into solid franchises in the first place instead of doing all these reboots. I'd understand if it was someone else interpreting all these characters but this is Marvel here. They created the characters and have a wealth of great stories already waiting to be turned into equally awesome screenplays. How hard is that?

Yes that's true but then again, alot of Marvel characters have been rumored to have their own movie. I just used the most recent projects that have been in the news.
