‘Lobo’ Finds A Director
By Landfill | September 2, 2009
To my knowledge, Warner Bros. has been trying to get Lobo off the ground for a very long time. Back in may /Film reported that Angel Dean Lopez‘ original script for the film was being rewritten by Don Payne (My Super Ex-girlfriend) and Jerrold E. Brown.
Today variety’s weblogs updates the project with the news of Guy Ritchie (RocknRolla, Sherlock Holmes) joining Lobo as director.
Production on “Lobo” begins early next year. The character originated in 1983 in “Omega Men,” written by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. Lobo has had several comic incarnations. In the film, he is a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitive aliens who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.
We can expect in the next few weeks for casting updates because they plan to start shooting at the beginning of next year.
Who do you think should play Lobo? Tell us in the comments.

That’s not a bad choice, would be crazy to see him and Guy Ritchie working together. you know, Mickey Rourke wouldn’t be a bad choice either since he’s taken a few steps in the CBM territory.

Tyler Mane. He played Sabretooth in the first X-Men, and Michael Myers in the Halloween remakes.

I think Tyler Mane is a great choice if he can get the acting together but, better than him would be Andrew Bryniarski I think. He campaigned for that part heavily years ago. Check him out wearing the makeup in Any Given Sunday!

I totally agree with Undertaker. He is the first person that popped into my mind. But Tyler Mane is not a bad choice either

Tyler Mane would be great for the part. He needs to show that he can act first. I mean he only had the one line from X-men.
Andrw Bryniarski’s a good choice as well. I have no idea how huge he is today but back when he played Latimer in The Program, he was huge. Oh and Andrew can act way better than Mane or The Undertaker.
