UPDATE: Latest News for ‘X-men: First Class’

UPDATE: According to the younger Cyclops actor Tim Pocock, X-men: First Class isn’t shooting early next year. This from his Twitter account, “Victim of cruel prank.last tweet=NOT me.AM filming Aussie show till2010.no official word on XM:FC but am interested.please post retraction”. Original article down below.

In the last week or so there’s been a bit of news concerning which X-Film would start next year. X-Producer Lauren Shuler Donner filled us in on the possibility that either First Class, Deadpool, or Wolverine 2 would start filming in 2010.

Today we bring the news that it’s very likely that X-men: First Class will be up first out of all the projects Fox has on the table. The news comes from the younger Cyclops from X-men Origins Wolverine Tim Pocock and his Twitter account. “Currently shooting Australian TV series till February 2010…then X-men first class.

This is good news since we need another X-men film but I’m not diggin the origin stuff Fox has lingered into. First Class is supposed to follow a young Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, and Iceman. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a reboot or a prequel that’s already been established in the first X-men films but I’m certain we’ll be hearing something about that later in the year.

I’m thinking if Ryan Reynolds was available next year to do Deadpool, we’d have that before First Class. Since he’s tied up with the Green Lantern gig we’ll have to settle for the younger X-men.

What do you think of First Class going first ahead of a Wolverine sequel and a Deadpool spin off? Tell us what you think in the comments.
