Guillermo Del Toro: Dr. Strange or Deadman?
By Landfill | September 8, 2009
We last reported on Guillermo Del Toro and his upcoming CBM Deadman finding a director. Even though Del Toro is producing the project, I thought it was possible he’d be too busy to take on another project at the same time as the The Hobbit double feature that requires him to live in New Zealand for the next four years. Continue on with the article to see which comic book character this news about.
It is being reported that Guillermo Del Toro has a surprise in store for his fans. He’s posted on TheOneRing.net (Via: CinemaBlend) about his next project before his move to New Zealand.
In a few days there will be a BIG announcement (big for me, at least) that is not-Hobbit related. BEFORE anyone starts wondering the usual “how does he have time?, Is this detracting form The Hobbit?” etc It is a project that started over 2 years ago, before The Hobbit and will render fruits in the mid-term, not intruding on my Hobbit duties. Rest assured.
The key letter is “D”

We can only speculate at this time but Del Toro has been active in two comic book productions both where the letter D is prominent. The reason why I’m leaning more towards Deadman is because they just hired a director in Nikolaj Arcel.
There hasn’t been any movement to my knowledge for a Dr. Strange movie other than speculation and I assume he’s still owned by Marvel Studios. With the latest news of Marvel being swallowed up by Disney, it’s possible this could be one of the very first projects under the new management. Either way our chances of getting a CBM produced by Guillermo Del Toro is awesome. I’ll keep you all updated if I hear of anything else with this news.
