Could Danny Trejo Appear in ‘Sin City 2′?

Some of you may know Danny Trejo. He has appeared in films such as From Dusk Til Dawn, Desperado, and the Machete trailer attached to Grindhouse back in 2007. One thing those projects have in common is Robert Rodriguez, the director of Sin City. Trejo and Rodriguez have worked together numerous times and today, Trejo has a small update for Sin City 2.
Punch Drunk Critics recently caught up with Danny Trejo at Horrorfind and asked him a few questions, one concerning Sin City 2. Big thanks to /Film for transcribing the quote for us, “It’s kind of in the works. We’re going to do Predators next,” Trejo said. “So Sin City’s kind of… er… a thought process… We’ll be doing Predator[s] I think in about a month.”
Predators of course is the remake/reboot of the previous Predator franchise starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The project will be produced by Robert Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal. But enough about Predators.
Sin City 2 has been in development since the release of the first film back in 2005. We keep getting monthly updates from cast and people involved with the film. This news today is yet another hold up for the upcoming CBM. I’m starting to think it might not happen but won’t give up until it’s 2012 and we still haven’t seen any movement.
According to Clive Owen, the project could start early next year but there still isn’t a script according to him. Oh and there’s no confirmation as to who Trejo will be playing but he is close to Rodriguez so he’s somewhat of a reliable source.
Sin City 2 keeps us updated all the time with the non-movement so next month be on the lookout for the next update that leads to nothing.

I’ve given up on the Sin City franchise. That said…
I think that the Machete trailer was the coolest possible trailer ever for a movie that’ll never actually happen…
