Christoph Waltz Joins ‘Green Hornet’

By Landfill | September 14, 2009

Christopher Waltz For those of you who do not know who Christoph Waltz is, you might want to watch Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds to get an idea. He hasn’t had too many acting roles this decade except for the aforementioned. He’s a great actor and if you haven’t seen Tarantino’s latest film, I would suggest you do so to understand the importance of this news.

Nikki Finke from Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Waltz has been cast as the villain for the upcoming CBM Green Hornet directed by Michel Gondry.

The role was originally being sought by Nicolas Cage but he had to drop out for unknown reasons. That’s the best thing that could happen to Green Hornet, I like Cage as an actor but Waltz has something else to offer that most films don’t have.

Waltz, who recently won Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival, is a perfect fit for this film and I can’t wait to see how he interacts with Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz onscreen.

Waltz’ role has been described as “An intimidating gangster who tangles with the Green Hornet.”

To get an idea of what Waltz has to offer, watch This Clip. I realize the clip doesn’t do him justice but you guys have to see what he’s bringing to the upcoming CBM even if it is just a glimpse.

Tell us what you think of the Casting in the comments.
