Pixar to Make ‘Ant-Man’?

By Landfill | September 8, 2009

ant-manWith the recent news of Disney overtaking Marvel, we were bound to hear of some news of future projects under the new regime.

Today we come to you with the news that Pixar, an animation studio owned by Disney, is already looking at Ant-Man as a future project. This from Entertainment Weekly, “Pixar is said to already be eyeballing an Ant-Man movie.”

I’m sure some of you are wondering why they would choose to do an animated Ant-Man over live action since he’s technically part of The Avengers which has a movieĀ  in the works with Marvel. Interestingly enough, Pixar is about to make the jump from animation to Live action with their current project John Carter of Mars so it doesn’t necessarily mean Ant-Man will be computer generated.

Last we reported, Ant-man had a director in Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hott Fuzz) who just wrapped principle photography with Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, another CBM we’ve recently reported on. Wright was very eager to do the film but Marvel has sat on the project since 2005 when the news was reported. It is unknown if Wright would still want to direct but news should follow this last bit of information.

What do you think of the latest Ant-Man news? Would you rather see an animated or a live action film? Tell us in the comments below.
