‘Fantastic Four’ to get a Reboot

Doing some late night reporting but I know it’s worth it. You guys might remember Hollywood’s take on The Fantastic Four a few years ago in 2005 and then again in 2007. I’m assuming the last one wasn’t well received with the latest news from Fox.
Earlier today we reported that Disney was consuming Marvel for a price tag of $4 Billion. In this move Fox has decided to hold on to their rights to the Fantastic Four and do what they call in the industry a reboot. You might remember Batman going through something earlier this decade and then again with Hulk last summer. Usually with reboots the quality of the film goes up and that’s exactly what The Fantastic Four needs. I don’t know about the majority of our readers but the last effort wasn’t that good and was definitely aimed at children.
With the reboot comes the hiring of producer Akiva Goldsman (Hancock, Jonah Hex)and writer Michael Green (Heroes, Green Lantern) which in a way is good news.
What this clears up from earlier today is that if Fox, who owns X-men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil, continues to make films that are in production, they get to renew the rights to Marvel’s characters while Marvel helps in production. This is the same thing Sony is doing with Spider-man 4, 5, 6. So it’s very possible for other studios that have the rights to make other movies right now but if and when they do hit a snag, that will be Disney/Marvel’s opportunity to get their characters back.
I’m not really sure how Fox owns the characters, if it’s individually or everyone associated with X-men. If it’s individual, Fox will continue to keep the main X-men cast, Deadpool, Wolverine, and just about every character that’s been on screen so far for them. I expect we’ll be hearing of a Daredevil reboot in the next few weeks if Fox wants to keep that franchise as well.
Tell us what you think of the reboot and what you think of Fox desperately holding on to The Fantastic Four in the comments.

Is it gonna be the same cast or are they totally changing it all like with Hulk? And Daredevil was atrocious, nobody sees Ben Afflek as a super Hero. If they do reboot it they should have Nathan Fillion as the new one.

Yeah the reboot should have a totally different cast like the latest Hulk.
They do need to reboot Daredevil. I know what you mean about Ben Affleck. I think a TV series would do Daredevil justice but that’s just me.
Nathan Filion needs a superhero job, I think in time he’ll get a chance.

Leave well enough alone, time to move on to other projects cause there are plenty more super hero movies to be made.
